Rescue Hovercraft
Our Rescue Hovercraft are designed and manufactured to meet the demanding needs of Fire Departments and Search & Rescue Organizations. Our craft operate effectively in hazardous conditions, such as over thin or
broken ice and can enhance your organization rescue capabilities while protecting your personnel. Hovercraft are extremely stable dive platforms and the smooth sides and low freeboard permit swift body recovery. Hovercraft can also be employed to pressure ventilate smoke filled buildings.
All Hovertechnics Hoverguard rescue craft are well equipped and include basic rescue equipment such as ring buoys, grab rails, grapple poles and spotlight. Every craft is custom built to end user specifications and a wide range of optional equipment is available including public address systems, GPS, VHF radio, night rescue lighting, backboards, throw bags, survival suits and hearing protectors.
Hoverguard rescue craft are available in six configurations to meet the demands of varied applications. The smallest specialized rescue craft is the Hoverguard 600. This craft has a 600lb payload and uses an air-cooled Rotax engine to drive a single 36'' fan that integrates lift and thrust. The Hoverguard 700 is also a single fan integrated craft but uses a larger water-cooled Rotax and has a 750lb payload. The single fan craft are economical, easy to operate and are very fast to deploy.
The Hoverguard 800 is the smallest of the Hovertechnics twin fan craft and is designed to perform in demanding environments while carrying a payload of 850lbs. If a larger payload is required, the Hoverguard 1000, 1000 Widetrack or 2000 are the craft of choice with a maximum available payload of 2,400lbs or 12 passengers. All of the twin fan craft are driven by a single GM Marine Power 350 V8 engine. Twin fan craft offer larger cockpits and enhanced rescue/recovery capacities. Hoverguard rescue hovercraft are in operation all around the world and have saved many lives since 1984.
